About Steve

Steve Wilcox brings a rare and powerful combination of decades-long field experience and advanced clinical training. A veteran Paramedic with over 20 years of experience, Steve has dedicated his life to serving the community.

Steve’s transition into the clinical world is driven by a profound commitment to breaking the mental health stigma within the first responder community.  Holding a Master of Social Work (MSW) from Widener University and a BA in Psychology from Western Connecticut State University, he bridges the gap between the "tough-it-out" culture of emergency services and the essential need for proactive mental health care.

As a member of Thinline Peer Support team, Steve is a recognized leader in peer support and responder wellness. His work focuses on providing tactical, relatable support to his peers, ensuring that those who take care of others have a safe place to take care of themselves. At A Greater Me, Steve leverages his extensive background in EMS, military service, and corrections to provide a level of cultural competency that only comes from decades of being "on the job." Whether he is advocating for his fellow responders on the Responder Resilience podcast or working one-on-one with clients, Steve is a steadfast ally for those navigating the unique weight of a life in service.
